LipoSelection(SM)

LipoSelection(SM) only by VASER® uses the latest patented technology and advanced surgical techniques to break up fat cells and remove fatty tissue in your thighs, hips, abdomen, love handles, knees, back, arms, neck and chin.

It's different than traditional liposuction or UAL in that is uses ultrasound energy to break up and remove fat deposits from the body. Fatty tissue contains a large percentage of fat cells as well as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. Ultrasound energy selectively breaks up and emulsifies fat, while leaving other tissue relatively intact. LipoSelection typically results in low to minimal pain and low incidences of bruising or prolonged swelling.

LipoSection is both efficient and precise. In fact, ultrasound energy is so precise and specific that the technology has been used to remove brain tumors and cataracts.

During the LipoSelection procedure, small incisions are made in the area to be sculpted. Through these small incisions, a special saline solution is infused to numb the site, shrink blood vessels, and enhance emulsification. Emulsified fat is then readily removed with suction and massage.

Tissue selectivity is key:

• Fatty tissue consists primarily of adipose (fat) cells, but it also contains other important tissues, including nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue (see graphic illustration below).
• The VASER System utilizes proprietary ultrasound technology to break up fatty tissue before removal.
• Sound energy, similar to that used to remove a cataract from the eye, fragments fatty tissue. Fat cells, which are large and soft, break apart (think of how easily a full water balloon will burst) while leaving nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue largely undisturbed.
• Because the sound energy leaves other surrounding tissue relatively intact, patients and physicians report low to minimal pain and low to minimal swelling and bruising.
• Once emulsified, fat is removed with minimal disturbance to important structural tissue, yielding smooth results (see graphic illustration below).
